"Kuro-sengoku" is a "phantom black bean" that was revived in 2001 from 50 seeds found in 2001.
The Kuro Sengoku Cooperative Association based in Hokuryu Town is making efforts to increase production, but compared to the 2,400 tons/year of Tanba black beans, which are well known as a high-end black bean, the production of Kuro Sengoku is only about 400 tons/year, making it a rare and "fantastic black bean".
Kuro-sengoku is rich in polyphenols and anthocyanins, which have high antioxidant properties, and the beans have a stronger natural sweetness compared to common soybeans.

Hokuryu Sunflower Rice

Inheriting the spirit that food is not a thing but "life", paddy rice farmers in the town have been growing safe and secure rice that consumers demand.
As a result, the organization as a whole is the only one in Japan to be certified under JAS (Japan Agricultural Standard) for the disclosure of production information.
Hokuryu Himawari Rice includes varieties such as Yumepirika, Nanatsuboshi, Oborozuki, and Kitakurin.

Sunflower melon

Sunflower melons, carefully cultivated in Hokuryu Town, are characterized by their clean aroma.
One is a blue flesh melon with refreshing sweetness and green flesh, and the other is a red flesh melon with mellow sweetness and orange flesh. Which do you prefer, the fresh sweetness or the mellow flavor?
Both sunflower melons are known for their high sugar content and refreshing aroma, and are proud to be enjoyed during the hot summer season.

Hokuryu Sunflower Watermelon

When we think of watermelon, we think of red flesh, but cut a small, cute sunflower watermelon and what you see is bright yellow flesh. Only those with a sugar content of 11 degrees or higher are called “Hokuryu sunflower watermelon,” and they are characterized by their refreshing sweetness and crisp texture when eaten, bringing a refreshingly cool feeling to the hot summer.
